Staff Room & Test Tool
Queen Elizabeth Girls' School in the UK has been making their staffroom page more user-friendly by putting a table in a text box and adding clear icons for each click through page/resource. This means that, even as their Fronter building grows and develops, staff are always able to quickly find all relevant content easily. Fronter is the main bridge between the admin and curriculum servers, allowing staff and students to access all the resources they need. As well as rooms filled with revision content they are moving towards even more interactive content. Brainstorm forums allow students to let their teachers know what topics they would like to revise/be taught in lesson time so that they are well prepared, particularly in exam years.
The Test tool enables teachers to look quickly at the gap analysis in the statistics of the test so that they are able to use this, and the forum responses, to inform their lesson planning. QEGS are also looking to team up departments to share ideas and best practice (on Fronter and other areas) to spread the great work that is happening in all areas and departments across the school.
Although each department uses Fronter differently, there is a very clear use of the platform to serve the needs of the school and this is a main contributing factor to its ongoing success.
