Software update July 2015
In this update we have focused on improvements to the planning and assessment workflows, as well as a number of enhancements to existing tools. Find out more about the news and changes below.
Time-saving enhancements in the planner
After this update, you’ll notice that there’s less clicks when working with dates in the planner. You can also save time by copying topics directly between courses, even if the topic does not yet have plans. See all the planner enhancements in this video.
Improvements to learning objectives
We've improved the way you can work with non-assessed learning objectives and made some changes to the learning objective repository. This video explains the changes.
Comments and learning objectives in final term assessments
It’s now possible for administrators to add more comments columns to course assessments. We’ve also added an option to include a list of learning objectives in the final term assessment. See the changes to final term assessments.
More template letter options
To improve the letter functionality, we have added attendance, behaviour and assessment categories to letter templates. In addition, mentors can now create assessment letters as a summary report to send to students and parents at the end of a term. Students and their parents or guardians now receive personal notifications about new letters. See how it works.
New storage distribution report
We’re happy to introduce a brand new version of our storage distribution report. The new report features a number of views to facilitate storage management, and better align with storage invoicing. The new storage report will be available shortly after the main update.
Adult students and parental relationships
Most countries have an age limit where parents no longer have a legal right to information about their child. Based on the user’s birth date, we have now made it possible for students above a set age limit to manage this relationship themselves. See how it works.
Restrict access to App Library
We have introduced a new setting in Admin >> Edit global settings >> Features and security for those who want to restrict their teachers' access to the app library. With the setting enabled, users can no longer see the app library.
Restrict access to courses from course catalogue
In some cases, it’s desirable that teachers can only find courses from the organisations/hierarchies they belong to, and not all other organisations on the site. We have added this as an option in the site settings, available for the system administrator to change. The option is found in the Privacy section under Admin >> Global settings >> Features and security.
We’ve also made some corrections and enhancements (pdf file).
