Parental involvement is key to a child’s educational success, and it also a prerequisite stated in laws and regulations. it’s learning’s parent dashboard answers the parent’s requests about access to their children’s school work. It improves the efficiency and quality of the home–school communication and takes the school into the 21st century. The solution is free until August 2011.

What is the cost?

• The solution is free for the next school year until school start 2011. After this period (from August/September 2011) the parent dashboard will be licensed. The costs will be calculated as a small percentage of the licence costs (not including storage). Contact your it's learning customer contact for more information.
• Parents module will be invoiced according to the normal licence period.
• The parents usage will NOT be counted as extra users in the licence system.
• When a school or Local Authority decides to give access to the parent dashboard, all parents will have access. (The number of parents using the parents dashboard might vary from time to time, but this will not affect the price).
• There will be different setups for parents and this will be managed on site level by the school/Local authority (to ensure that schools are in control of their storage costs).

Will it be time-consuming to make the solution work?

The only time-consuming work is for administrators to add parent users and connect them to their children. However, this can be automated with CSV imports and synchronisations. When this is done information is published automatically to the parents – the school does not have to do anything special.

Does it conform to laws and regulations regarding privacy – e.g. the Data Inspectorate?

Yes, we always make sure that the technical solution itself conforms to existing laws and regulations. However, each individual school should of course make sure that the information which is made available through the parent dashboard also confirms to laws and regulations.
