  • New App Library brings apps to education through online learning platform

    BERGEN: Apps have revolutionised the mobile phone market by giving consumers access to a huge range of applications at the touch of a button. Now, learning platform provider itslearning is bringing the same functionality to teachers and students through its newly revamped App Library. Set to launch in November, the App Library will make teaching and learning applications available to teachers and students directly through the cloud-based platform.

  • itslearning acquires Dutch rival Dactique

    BERGEN: Today, itslearning announced that it will acquire a 51% stake in educational technology provider Dactique. This cooperation will make itslearning the largest learning platform provider in the Netherlands, enabling the company to offer even better service and products to the Dutch educational sector. Norwegian-based educational ICT provider itslearning announced today that it will shortly acquire majority ownership of the Dutch company Dactique.

  • 7 out of 10 teachers think the internet could help improve communication with parents

    BERGEN: 71% of teachers feel that a secure internet ‘parent portal’, where parents could see details about their child's schooling, would improve school-to-parent communication, according to a survey of 5805 teachers released today. In the survey of teachers in France, Germany, Norway, Sweden, the UK and the US, 75% of teachers also rated parental engagement as very important.

  • itslearning acquires French company in bid to develop ‘perfect’ learning platform

    BERGEN: Today, itslearning announced that it will acquire a 66% stake in educational technology provider InfoStance from the French publishing giant Hachette Livre. Hachette Livre will retain 34% ownership of the company. The deal should enable itslearning to use InfoStance’s expertise in school administration systems to create an even stronger learning platform.
