By providing parents with their own login to it’s learning, schools can allow parents access to important information about their children’s education: task lists, results, grades, individual learning plans, attendance, and behaviour. This information is updated automatically when teachers make changes in it’s learning.
It is also possible to communicate general information from the school to the parents through it’s learning, and messages can be sent between parents and mentors/form teachers.
Privacy
We recognise the children’s right to privacy, and as a result we have limited what kind of information the parents have access to, and who they can communicate with in it’s learning.
- Parents only see information about their own children
- Parents cannot access their children’s e-mail and messages
- Parents cannot see the content in courses and projects
- Parents are limited to communicating with their children’s mentors/form teachers
Free until July/August 2011
The solution is free for the next school year until school start 2011. After this period (from August/September 2011) the parent dashboard will be licensed. The costs will be calculated as a small percentage of the licence costs (not including storage). Contact your it's learning customer contact for more information.
Getting started
We have made a getting started guide for administrators with information on how to add parent users and connect them to their children. The guide can be downloaded here (PDF file).
