Marietta City Schools (Georgia) Selects itslearning for K-12 Digital Learning
The Marietta Board of Education (Georgia) has unanimously voted to select itslearning as their learning management system for Marietta City Schools. Jennifer Hernandez, the principal of the Marietta Center for Advanced Academics, says, "Essentially, a learning management system is a secure place or portal where students and teachers have the opportunity to collaborate, store learning materials, upload artifacts and do other things,” she said. “This learning system is going to be the modern-day textbook for us."
The decision to use itslearning ties into the school district's effort to be technologically innovative. Teachers will now have an interactive learning and teaching space throughout the school year. Over the next year, selected teachers and students will begin working with itslearning. The partnership has created a lot of anticipation and teachers are excited.
Hernandez also noted that "The committee had several things that they really liked about the program. The first being that they have a K-12 focus. They also liked that an elementary interface is going to look much different than a middle school or high school student’s. We’re able to customize features based on the level of the student."
