How can I cope without my funding?

How can educational institutions do more with less money? And how can they use technology to better prepare their students in the 21st century?

In a recent webinar, award-winning ICT evangelist, author & broadcaster Russell Prue showed how educational institutions can use technology to teach students the creative and problem-solving skills they need in the 21st century – without breaking the budget.

We got to catch up!

In one example, Russell uses the young self-taught make-up artist Lauren Luke. She creates makeup tutorials on her YouTube channel which has over 109 million views and over 450,000 subscribers. Russell shows how we can learn from Lauren who used 21st century social networking tools to market herself – opposite the direction to the current thinking of the education and policy makers. "We are so slow to embrace that in education – we got to catch up," Russell says.

Develop creativity and collaboration

Russell also talks about how schools can develop the students' creativity and collaboration skills by creating a live school radio station. The radio station is of course not meant to replace traditional teaching, but students may benefit from working with the radio station in many different ways – and across all subjects.
