How to tidy up the hierarchy

Several new tools in itslearning cannot be used unless each school on your site has been specifically defined as a school. This goes for eSafety and Policies, but also for Extensions, which allows teachers to make use of a range of external tools that can add a new dimension and richness to their teaching. Time to tidy up? We show you how easy it is!

  1. Go to Administration >> Hierarchy.
  2. Choose a school from the list and press Edit.
  3. Tick off the box for Organisation. The school then gets the hierarchy type School.
  4. Press Save.
  5. Do the same for all the schools on your site.

Note that if any sub-categories at a school (e.g. a course or a group) have been set as schools, this will prevent you from defining the school as a School. To correct this you will have to:

  1. Choose a course/group from the list and press Edit.
  2. Remove the check mark for Organisation.
  3. Choose the correct Hierarchy type from the drop-down menu (Course or Group).
  4. Press Save.
  5. Do the same for all sub-categories to the school.

Now you can set the school as a School by following the instructions above.

The hierarchy should look like this:

It would be wonderful if this worked however when I select the hierarchy to edit the Organization box is checked and I can't uncheck it to select course or group. It appears that the only way I can make changes is to create a new hierarchy, enter in the information I require to chage the setting, move all users and delete the old mislabeled hierarchy. Am I missing something?
