it's learning features

it's learning consists of a number of different features which are especially tailored for the education sector. This page describes the most important functionality. Click the links below for more information, video tutorials and resources.

Headteachers

A headteacher is the most senior teacher and leader of a school. In it’s learning, the headteacher role is responsible for monitoring the work of the mentors – and gets a full overview of attendance, behaviour and assessment reports.

Headteachers need to have a clear overview of what’s going on in the school, so it’s learning includes the Headteacher role. As a headteacher in it’s learning, you can view reports, and choose to view full school reports or reports collated under each mentor.

Headteachers can also control workflow. For example, the headteacher can choose to have final approval on certain reports. In this case, the report will only become visible to learners and parents when approved by the headteacher.

Headteacher + mentor = supervisor

Users who are assigned as headteachers will see a new Headteacher tab in the top menu. However, as some headteachers are also mentors, we’ve also created the “Supervisor” role. If you’re both a headteacher and a mentor, you will a Supervisor tab that contains the mentor and headteacher administration tools in one. Users who are only mentors or headteachers will get a mentor or headteacher tab respectively. Administrators can manage both roles from the Supervisor page.

What do you call it?

Different schools use different names for the headteacher role – for example school principal, headmaster or headmistress. “Headteacher” is a dynamic term, and it is possible for each school or site to change the name of the headteacher role in it’s learning.
