Administrator FAQ

The parent dashboard provides you with a more efficient and individualised information channel for parents. As an administrator you can communicate with parents on several levels. It is possible to inform groups of parents, or contact specific parents individually.

Questions and Answers

How do we add all the parent users?

At this time it can either be done manually under Administration >> Users and access rights (read more in the online help), by importing CSV files or by synchronisations.

Is it safe?

Yes, if your parental access permission records are up to date. If the user names and passwords are kept private, the solution is perfectly secure – no outsiders can access the information.

Is it time-consuming?

It may take some time to import parent users, but we suggest that you plan the import beforehand to save time. Thereafter updating records can be done easily and quickly. Once the user accounts are set up reports are generated automatically.

What can parents access?

Depending on how your school use it’s learning, parents can have access to information about the identified individual learner’s:

  • Task lists
  • Completed activities, such as test and assignment results
  • Course reports and plans
  • Individual learning plans
  • Attendance remarks
  • Behaviour remarks
  • General information the the school publishes

Whose responsibility is it to import parent users? The school? The LA?

It depends on your organisation. Contact your site administrator for more information.

How easily can parent information be updated?

Sometimes it may be necessary to remove the access for certain parents, for example in connection with custody changes. In such situations you can easily remove the access to the parent dashboard from the particular parent. To do this, click the Administration tab in it's learning, search for the learner, click the edit icon, click the Parents tab and remove the connection to the particular parent.
